NEWSUG exists to promote the free exchange of information
about using SolidWorks among the user group members. It provides a forum in
which the members can help each other in advancing their SolidWorks knowledge
and abilities.
- SolidWorks User Group will
be organized and operated completely by member volunteers.
- Participants need not own a
copy of SolidWorks.
- SolidWorks Corporation, SolidWorks
VARS, and SolidWorks business partners are welcome to participate but are
not eligible to hold elected positions.
The SolidWorks User Group will elect from the members these
officers by simple majority vote:
- President. Represents the group,
and is responsible for organizing meetings and activities.
- Additional board members who
will assist in organizing the meeting, keeping records, updating the group
web site, and publishing meeting notes.
Officers
may be removed at any meeting via simple majority vote of those members in
attendance.
The SolidWorks User Group will meet
four times each year.
- Participants will be encouraged
to participate, and present topics at the meetings.
- Attendees are encouraged
to volunteer to give SolidWorks case studies.
- In addition to the
VARs and SolidWorks Corp, the SolidWorks User Group members will be a resource
for answering questions related to SolidWorks.
- Members will be encouraged
to voluntarily field questions by others in the SolidWorks User Group.
- The
SolidWorks User Group will not be a resource for SolidWorks bug related issues.
The SolidWorks User Group will email members current information
or keep a current web page. This will include:
- Last meeting minutes
- Preliminary agenda for the next meeting.
- Topics of interest.
- Notice of upcoming SolidWorks related events.
- A database of participants will be kept by the president and board
members.
- It will not be available for
anything except contacting user group members.

- Company Name
- Email Address
- Phone number
This charter may be revised by a unanimous vote of the officers
and a simple majority vote of the members who attend the next general meeting
after the officer vote. The meeting must be announced publicly along with the
charter.
